Moroccan South expedition 5 days / 4 nights

Day 1: Ouarzazate – Todgha Gorges – Merzouga Dunes
Morning departure from Ouarzazate with our driver and 4WD vehicle through what we call teh road of thousand kasbahs and Kelaa Mgouna, the city of roses, we will attend the Berber village of Boumalen Dades after we cross the rose valley. We continue to Tineghir and it’s palmary to visit the Jewish district and take a walk along the palmary. Afterwards, we travel to the gorges of Todgha, canyons of about 300m high where we stop for lunch under the fresh air of the gorges. In the afternoon, we continue our way to Erfoud and we take a track that leads to the dunes of Erg Chebbi where we meet the camel team and exchange our 4WD with camels to cross the dunes at the sunset and arrive to the camp for the first night.

Day 2: Merzouga Dunes – Rissani – Nkob – Zagora
Early morning for sunrise on the dunes and breakfast and leave to Rissani, the birth place of Alouite dynasty that rules Morocco, a short visit of Rissani’s typical market after we head to Draa valley and Zagora via the palmary of Nkob. Break for lunch and continue to Zagora for the second night of our Sahara trip in the southern Morocco. Dinner and overnight in the hotel at Zagora.

Day 3: Zagora – Tagounit – Ouled Driss – Mhamid
After breakfast at Zagora hotel, we will go on a short discovery of Zagora city and suburbs, we begun our visit with the first village named Tamgroute famous for two things, the pottery and the old library that contains old books. Afterwards, we continue to Tagounit then we stop for lunch on the way at Ouled Driss palmary before we reach the last village before the desert. A camel ride to the bivouac located in the middle of the dunes at Mhamid desert, dinner and overnight in the desert of southern Mhamid animated with a troop of blue men.

Day 4: Mhamid – Chegaga dunes
After breakfast, we began our tour to explore the old village of Mhamid, including a tea break with a local family. Afterwards we head to the dunes of Chegaga after we cross the hamadas and Ergs of desert for around 60km far way from Mhamid, we join the dunes and the oasis where the camp is located, night in the dunes of Chegaga bivouac.

Day 4: Chegaga – Foum zguid – Tazenakht – Ouarzazate
After breakfast at Chegag bivouac, we travel along the off-road track that links Chegaga and Foumzguid for around 110 km, we cross Iirki lake and arrive to Foumzguid for lunch. In the afternoon, we continue to Tazenakht and cross the Anti Atlas Mountains to return back to Ouarzazate.
