Mhamid and Chegaga Dunes desert 3 days / 2 nights

Two camels cast long shadows onto the dunes at Erg Chebbi, Sahara Desert, Morocco.

Day 1: Ouarzazate – Draa valley – Zagora – Mhamid Dunes
Morning departure from the hotel in Ouarzazate through the Draa Valley and the Anti Atlas Mountains. When we reach Agdez village, we take the lift side of Draa valley inside the palm grove of Mezguita on a track that links Agdez to Tamnougalt famous for its Kasbah located on the hill wich offers an impressive viaw on Draa valley. Lunch break at Zagora restaurant, in the afternoon we travel further to Mhamid, the last village of Draa valley before the dunes. Meeting with camel caravan team and ride to the camp at the sunset time in the middle of dunes to spend the first night in the desert under the nomadic tents. Dinner and overnight in the Sahara desert camp.

Day 2: Mhamid – Chegaga Dunes
Early morning to enjoy sunrise moment in Mhamid dunes followed by breakfast in the camp. Pack back the caravan and leave to the village where your car is parked. Meeting with your driver and visit the old village of Mhamid known as the crossroad of caravans. Afterwards, departures towards Chegaga dunes via hard off-road where Hamadas (Small dunes) and Reg (desert stones) alternate for 60 km. For lunch, picnic in a sacred oasis before we arrive to Chegaga dunes, night in the camp located in a Oasis under the nomadic tents. The dunes of Chegaga attend around 200 m high.

Day 3: Chegaga Dunes – Iriki lake – Foumzguid – Tazenakht – Ouarzazate
Early morning to see the sunrise after you climb the big dunes of Erg Laabidlya foolowed by breakfast in the bivouac. The adventure continues on the hard off-roads via the lake of Irikii to attend Foumzguid for around 90km. Lunch break in the Berber city of Tazenakht, known for carpets. In the afternoon, we cross the Anti Atlas to get to Ouarzazate.
